What did 2015 look like for Fieldhouse Media?

As we head full speed into a new year, it’s always good to step back and reflect on the previous year. To understand where we’ve come from, where we are, and where we’re going. And, hopefully, to celebrate. Thanks to you, 2015 brought us many reasons to celebrate.

 

Social Media Education/Training

Since 2011, our mission has been to educate, equip and empower student-athletes to use social media well. That also includes working with coaches and administrators, helping them to not only have more meaningful conversations with their players, but to also realize the need and value of using it themselves. To that end, 2015 was our best year yet. We spent time on over 50 campuses, educating more than 25,000 student-athletes, coaches and staff about what it means to use social media with purpose and why that matters. From high schools to D1 powers to national conferences to Nike Elite 100 camps, you welcomed us onto your campuses and embraced our message. You’ve realized the need to not only tell your student-athletes what not to do online, but more importantly to empower them to represent themselves and the program in the best light possible. To believe they have a story and equip them to tell it. There’s a misconception today that because kids are growing up online, they understand how to use social media well. While we wish that were the case, it simply isn’t. Success online happens intentionally, not accidentally. That comes with education. Nothing beats in-person, relevant, empowering education. Thank you for continuing to believe that. Our spring sessions are filling up, so book those now.

Social Media Strategy

We had the pleasure of serving several athletic programs (from D3 to professional) with their social media strategy. We did a deep dive into their current efforts to see what was and wasn’t working, and set a clear, detailed path to success. These implemented strategies resulted in record growth for each client in quality followers, engagement, targeted reach and conversions (clicks, buys, sign-ups, etc). We continue to see a need in this space, as programs struggle to define what “success” looks like for them online – it’s more than great graphics or timely GIFs. We love helping you create a process to share the right content, on the right platforms, to the right people, at the right time. To build something that lasts. The story you tell and how you tell it matters.

Leadership Development

In late 2014 we launched Fieldhouse Leadership as a business, powered by GiANT Worldwide, the fastest growing leadership firm in the country. What started as simply a daily email to inspire leaders in college athletics (sign up here to get on that list) has turned into a full-fledged leadership development firm, dedicated to building leaders worth following who create and multiply healthy culture. We served 15 programs this year and have consistently been met with responses like, “I think you just changed, and maybe saved, my life.” We can’t take that credit, of course, but the content we share leads to transformation. We’ve seen it again and again. From workshops to retreats to professional development days, we’d love to be your leadership resource in 2016. note: we’ll also be hosting an athletics leadership conference in OKC on April 21 and 22 – keep an eye out for details. 

 

2015 was special. From Iowa to Massachusetts, New Mexico to Florida, Vegas to the Bahamas and many places in between, a lot of incredible things happened for us and none if it would be possible without our clients, friends and fans. We consider it an honor to be in the college athletics industry, and a true joy to help student-athletes, coaches, administrators and athletics departments tell their story. Together, we believe we are impacting the next generation of leaders for good. And we couldn’t be more excited about what 2016 will bring. Here’s to a successful new year for all of us.
